This policy explains what data Tail Frame collects, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to tailframe.com and the Tail Frame Android app. For terms of use see our Terms of Service. To delete your account see Account & Data Deletion.

Who runs Tail Frame

Tail Frame is operated by Christian Kasim Loan, Berlin, Germany. We are the data controller under GDPR. Contact: support@tailframe.com.

What we collect

Account info — email address and Firebase user ID. Collected when you sign in with Google or email/password.
Pet photos you upload — used to generate AI photos and videos. Sent to KIE.ai for processing. Auto-deleted from our storage after each generation completes or fails.
Generated outputs — the AI photos and videos we generate for you, stored in your private gallery on our infrastructure until you delete them.
Purchase history — Paws credit pack purchases and their amounts. Payment is processed by Stripe (web) and Google Play Billing (Android). We never receive or store your card number.
App interactions — page views, button taps, generation events. Sent to PostHog and Google Analytics 4 for product analytics.
Crash logs and performance data — diagnostic info if the app crashes or runs slowly. Sent to Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring.
Device or other IDs — Firebase-installation ID and similar app identifiers, used for analytics and to prevent abuse.

We do not collect location, contacts, SMS, audio, browsing history, calendar, health data, or any other category not listed above.

Why we collect it

Account management — to create and authenticate your account.
App functionality — uploaded photos are sent to KIE.ai so the AI can generate your output. Purchases are processed by Stripe or Google Play so we can credit your account.
Analytics — to understand what features people use and to fix bugs.
Customer support — to answer questions you email us.
Email notifications — service emails about your generations and account, sent via Resend.
Push notifications (Android app) — to tell you when a generation completes, sent via Firebase Cloud Messaging.

We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

Third parties we share with

We share specific data with the following processors only as needed to run the service:

KIE.ai — receives your uploaded pet photo to generate your output.
Google (Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Play, GA4) — auth, database, storage, payments on Android, analytics.
Stripe — payments on the web.
PostHog — product analytics.
Resend — transactional email delivery.

Each of the above is bound by their own privacy commitments and our processor agreements. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own advertising.

Data retention

Uploaded pet photos: deleted from our storage immediately after the generation completes or fails (typically within minutes).
Generated outputs: retained until you delete them from your gallery or close your account.
Account info, purchase history, generation history: retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure (see Account & Data Deletion).
Aggregated/anonymized analytics: retained indefinitely.
Records required for tax or legal reasons: retained for the period required by law (typically up to 10 years in Germany).

Security

All traffic between your device and Tail Frame is encrypted (TLS in transit). Stored data sits in Google Cloud (region us-central1) with access limited to the operator and automated systems. We use Cloud Vision SafeSearch to pre-filter uploads against explicit content and keep a moderation queue for reported outputs.

Your rights under GDPR / CCPA

You can ask us to:

Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data (see Account & Data Deletion)
Restrict or object to certain processing
Port your data to another service
Withdraw consent at any time for any processing based on consent
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Germany: the Berlin Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit)

To exercise any of these rights, email support@tailframe.com from the address tied to your account. We respond within 30 days.

International data transfers

Some of our processors are located in the United States (Google, KIE.ai, Stripe, PostHog, Resend). Where data leaves the EEA, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards under GDPR.

Children

Tail Frame is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the service, email support@tailframe.com and we will delete the account.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses essential cookies for authentication and analytics cookies (PostHog, GA4) to understand how the site is used. The Android app uses analogous app identifiers via Firebase. We do not use advertising cookies and do not run advertising trackers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on the site or via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
